  • Designing and drafting of pension, profit sharing, 401(k), 403(b) and other qualified retirement plans
  • Advising on employee communication matters for tax-qualified retirement plans, welfare plans (including group health, life and disability programs) and fringe benefit plans (such as cafeteria plans, flexible spending accounts and qualified transportation fringe benefit plans)
  • Preparing cafeteria plans and flexible spending arrangements to contain employer health insurance and fringe benefit costs
  • Litigating Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) matters
  • Advising clients with respect to group health plans, including compliance with applicable federal and state laws such as ERISA, the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 (COBRA) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)
  • Working on executive compensation and employee benefit issues that arise in connection with mergers and acquisitions, and private equity transactions
  • Advising employee benefit plan administrators and plan sponsors regarding ERISA fiduciary responsibilities
  • Consulting with clients on benefit options, packages and portfolios
  • Advising employers on compliance with federal and state laws
